Adding Versatility To My Winter Wardrobe

While I don’t add many pieces to my wardrobe, my focus has been to chose items that add versatility to what I currently own. I wanted to share a few new pieces for this winter that have allowed me to do just that.

Quince Camel Sweater

CAMEL SWEATER

This Mongolian Cashmere Crew from Quince has been a great addition for my winter wardrobe. It not only keeps me cozy and warm, but the rich camel color contrasts beautifully against my mostly black wardrobe. The price point makes it incredibly affordable, as the price for cashmere sweaters can be out of reach for many. Leopard Snow Boots

LEOPARD BOOTS

By far the most practical purchase I’ve made for my winter wardrobe is this pair of leopard boots from Cole Haan. These are their 4.ZERØGRAND Hiker Boot. While they are called a hiker boot, I use them as a snow boot. Not that I can go trudging through piles of snow, but they are water-resistant and fleece lined. That makes them perfect for running errands or walking around a city. I was looking for a boot to not only keep my feet warm, but also to add some personality to a winter outfit.

Camel Scarf

CAMEL SCARF

I’ve been really wanting to add more color to my wardrobe, and accessories like this scarf are an easy and inexpensive way to do it. Right now the two winter coats I have are both black, so pieces like purses, scarves and shoes are the only way to add a bit of color to my outfit. This one I grabbed from Saks Fifth Avenue over the summer, but they have a similar version here from their OFF 5th store. Other brands like Naadam and Quince also do great version of cashmere scarves.

Quince Review

KNIT BLAZER

This is a great find from The Real Real over the summer. I am familiar with St. John’s knits, and love the weight and movement that they have. This is that style that is between a blazer with the shape, but also a sweater with the material in a beautiful silver gray color. It has proven to be easy to style with light and dark colors, on its own as a second layer, or under my winter wool wrap coat for an additional layer of warmth.

If you are looking to add more versatility to your winter wardrobe, accessories can be the most affordable solution. Go for pieces that work seamlessly with what you already own. Neutrals like camel, grey or beige are an easy option. Bold colors like red and green can also pair well with a variety of colors. And of course there is always leopard print!
