Favorite Beauty Tools

When it comes to beauty, one thing we are all striving for is clear skin. If you deal with acne, you understand the content struggle to keep it at bay and under control. Over the years I’ve tried countless products, including prescription medication and retinol. Now I’m at a place where I’m pretty happy with my skin, thanks to my favorite beauty tools and the products I use with them. If you are on the hunt for beauty tools and products, check out what I use below.

PMD Personal Microderm Pro
This is the most I’ve spent on a beauty tool, but I can say it’s worth every penny. Since I started using it my congested pores have decreased significantly and the overall texture of my skin has improved. I use it once a week as recommended, as part of my Sunday night routine. By the time Sunday rolls around, my skin is definitely in need and feels so smooth after.

Tata Harper Regenerating Cleaner
For the rest of the week I use this cleanser as part of my double cleanse routine. Getting in the habit of double cleansing has also help to improve breakouts. My skin just seems to need a lot of regular exfoliation, and as soon as I stop, the blackheads and congested pores start to increase. This cleanser is gentle enough to use everyday and does not dry out my skin. Sometimes exfoliating cleansers are too harsh, and you especially want a gentle version in conjunction with using the Microderm.

PMD Clean Smart Personal Cleansing Device
Years ago I had the Clarisonic, but was not impressed and I didn’t really see any results. I didn’t like the fact that the bristles always seemed to be wet when I went to use it and that you had to constantly pay for new brush heads. And at around $30 a brush head, that adds up. With the personal cleansing device, there are no parts to replace, other than the batteries. It’s also easy to clean and I actually see results using it. I use this with a cleansing oil as the first step in my double cleanse routine.

Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum
This serum is probably the skincare product I’ve repurchased the most. I’m on my 5th bottle and have no intentions of swapping it. I needed a natural alternative to retinol that actually worked and was gentle on my skin. Since using it I have had very few breakouts, and when I do have a pimple or two, the healing time is significantly faster.

Herbivore Rose Quartz Gua Sha in Teardrop Shape
I’ve seen this tool described as a natural alternative to botox. While I’m skeptical about that claim, I can say it helps to massage the facial muscles. I tend to grind my teeth and clench my jaw, and using this helps relax my jaw muscles. It also helps with lymphatic massage, which for me means that it helps decreases a double chin that I started to develop. There are a lot of how-to videos out there, and I would recommend checking some out from reputable sources on how to best use the different shapes of Gua Sha tools there are.

I hope this provided some beauty tool and product information that can help on your journey to clear skin!
