My Fall Wishlist

Though I’ve always wanted to live in a warm climate, I definitely would miss the fall weather. It’s the perfect chance to flex my layering skills and provides so many more outfit combos than summer. This year I’m focused on adding more pieces in hues of tan rather than my go-to of black, black and more black. Black is the new black was my motto while living in NYC, but we have recently moved to a city in the Midwest near the Great Lakes that provides an extended fall season. More reasons to stock up on some great new pieces. So grab a chai latte or apple cider and let’s dive in!

.) First on my list is a fall coat. I’ve got my eye on a few of The Curated’s coats, especially their Classic Coat in the Bone or Camel color. Not only is it a beautiful design but is also a mix of organic cashmere and merino wool. And with the company focused on more sustainable practices, you can feel good about the purchase and stay warm at the same time. To see an extended list of fall coat suggestions, check out my Fall Coat Roundup.

.) Another company that produces more ethical cashmere is Naadam. I’m a bit obsessed with scarves. They are the beautiful accessory that can also help keep you warm in cold temperatures. I love how grey seems to be that great neutral color that goes with just about anything.

.) What’s more French than a navy and white striped top? Sézane’s Colette Marinière top elevates it above a mere t-shirt with button detailing at the shoulder in organic cotton. I’ve been on the hunt for a striped t-shirt with a bit thicker fabric and this seems to fit the bill.

.) I love a good animal print! And considering how much wear I get out of my leopard boots, that seem to go with everything, Jenni Kayne’s Cheetah Pony Hair Mule seems like the perfect fit for a fall shoe. They will keep my toes covered on cold days but give some versatility to my shoe wardrobe as the weather starts to dip.

.) I have a cashmere sweater from Naadam and it incredibly soft and cozy while still being lightweight and warm. This is their more budget friendly cashmere sweater at $75 and comes in 14 colors. I’m leaning toward the Camel or Peach, but there’s definitely a color option out there for everyone. I’m curious how their $75 version compares to my current Naadam sweater.

.) Since being gifted my Louis Vuitton Croisette from my amazing husband, I’ve been realizing I need something that will hold the necessary small items like hand sanitizer, lip balm, lipstick, etc. that always live in the purse I’m using. I can’t carry a large bag due to a neck injury, so no worries about dealing with a bottomless pit of a purse, but it would be nice to have something to make changing bags seamless. Cuyana’s Mini Travel Case in Ecru is small enough to fit into my main purses but also complements my beige Chanel bag and also my Croisette in Damier Azur. And since I’m not going to drop the amount of cash needed to get a matching wallet for either of these, this is a budget friendly option that is incredibly versatile.

.) Vetta is a brand that I came across last month while randomly watching youtube videos – you know, the usual distraction these days. A blogger had been gifted a capsule collection and was trying on each piece and reviewing it. Some of the pieces were multi-functional which definitely got my attention. I checked them out online and saw a few pieces that piqued my interest, including this Reversible Satin Midi Skirt. I mean what’s not to love? The length is great for fall weather and you have both a rich camel hue and then an animal print on the other side. Yes, please!

.) I cannot tell you how long I have been on the hunt for a leather backpack. My criteria is incredibly specific. As I mentioned above I have a neck injury that doesn’t allow me to carry large purses, and even small or medium size can bother me and cause pain if its too heavy or worn for too long. So finding a backpack that is the right size to be able to carry a small water bottle and the essentials but not too big or cumbersome has been tough. Though no traveling is happening right now for obvious reasons, I’m still looking forward to nabbing Polène’s “Numéro Un Mini” when the time is right.

.) I have to admit that I usually wear the same pair of earrings almost nonstop. Partly out of laziness to make another selection and partly because my selection to chose from is incredibly limited. So I was so excited when Cuyana sent an email to say they were adding jewelry to their collection. Some of the other pieces are too chunky for my taste, but these delicate hoops fit the bill quite nicely. And bonus they have small add-ons like this pearl option to make the hoops more versatile.

.) I’m a sucker for pearls. Sometimes they can feel too preppy for my taste, but I love when they are kept more in their natural form and not the standard round ball. Cuyana sells these individually so you can create either an asymmetrical look or buy two and pair them with one of their hoop earrings. I would also pair one with a gold chain as a necklace to give it even more versatility.

.) With more and more sustainable and budget friendly options of cashmere popping up, I’ve decided why would I buy a wool sweater? Why not cover myself as much as possible in cashmere when the weather cools? And my obsession with The Curated continues…They have a small but beautiful selection of cashmere sweaters. Their Chunky Crew style is made from $100 organic cashmere and is a surprisingly affordable price. I’m in love with the Panacotta color, though I really would take any color or all of them!

.) Last but definitely not least is Sézane’s The Perfect Slim Eco-Friendly jean in black. Finding a good pair of jeans at a good price point that also is made with more ethical standards is a tall ask. Not to mention the added headache of trying out a new brand online without getting to try them on in person. But with only owning 3 pairs of jeans, one of which was purchased at ankle length by mistake (I’m 5’10”), I’m at the point of taking a chance on a new brand. These are definitely pricier than my Everlane jeans, but I’m curious to compare them and have my fingers crossed they will be amazing because returning online can be such a pain.

I’m tempted to add more to my wishlist but everything in moderation! If you have suggestions of any cashmere sweaters, or let’s be honest, anything cashmere let me know. I’d love to hear your suggestions.
