A Fall 10×10 Wardrobe Challenge is just the thing I needed to get excited about my wardrobe for the new season. While I’ve done this challenge for a few seasons, each time I am surprised by the results. I find these challenges helpful for several reasons:
- Incorporating new pieces into your wardrobe.
I love the possibilities and versatility a new piece offers, but sometimes I need to play in my closet to see how many different ways I can incorporate a new piece into my existing wardrobe. When you have so few pieces to work with in a 10×10 wardrobe challenge, you have to get really creative in creating as many outfits as possible. That really sparks my creativity and helps me to think out of my usual style and uniform box. - Discovering new ways to mix and match your existing wardrobe.
This is especially helpful when you feel stuck with your wardrobe or just not inspired with the way you have been putting together outfits. I always find new ways to style existing pieces when I do a wardrobe challenge, and then in turn get excited about my closet again. - When you want to pack light for a trip.
Checking luggage is such a pain these days, so sticking to a carry-on makes traveling that much easier. If you want to keep your clothing to a minimum, a 10×10 wardrobe challenge is a great way to create a mini capsule wardrobe perfect for a short or even a multiple weeks long trip. - Finding holes in your wardrobe.
Inevitably each time I do a 10×10 challenge, I realize some glaring hole in my wardrobe. For this fall challenge, I discovered I was really missing a skirt. While I have the slip dress, that can be styled as a skirt, I would love to have a midi skirt in a leopard print to give my fall wardrobe more versatility.
